In this essay, we’ll apply the principles of Correctionism in solving an important real-life problem currently confronting all mankind. This problem is the Paradox of Civilization which is defined in Correctionism as: The more advanced in terms of civilization people think they are, the more savage and depraved they often turn out to be. The Paradox of Civilization not only gives us a better idea of why human civilizations are often the exact opposite of what they think they are but it also helps to explain why man’s civilizations often devolve into war and slavery over time. Moreover, people have been mistakenly taught to believe that this is normal, which couldn’t be further from the Truth.
Things have become so bad for our species today, that mankind currently teeters on the brink of a digital dark age; we now have no choice but to completely rethink how we see man and human civilization. When we take a deeper look at the performance of mankind when it comes to civilization, over the last several thousand years and counting, it becomes clear that at the heart of man’s problems with civilization are two very bad habits, which are: man’s longstanding habit of living in mythology rather than in reality as well as man’s horrendous habit of worshipping his creations or inventions, thereby, making them more important than himself. The foregoing habits are extremely dangerous and have been the source of untold misery for our species. They’re also the prime suspects contributing to another aspect of the Paradox of Civilization: in spite of man’s best intentions, sooner or later, humans eventually get around to completely ruining every civilization known to recorded history usually via orgies of war and slavery.
This brings us to another serious problem related to the so-called advance of civilization, which in Correctionism is known as the Paradox of Human Knowledge: The more man learns, the greater his capacity for wrongdoing. This would explain why modern, technological civilization is also the most wayward civilization ever devised by man.
In other words, never has mankind been more wrong or as misguided as it is today!
Correctionism teaches that human civilization comes in both true and false manifestations. True Civilization is defined in Correctionism as any form of civilization where human evil and ignorance are actually held in check; while False Civilization is defined as any form of civilization where human evil and ignorance dominate. This goes right to the very heart of the true nature of man himself because current forms of civilization also suffer from misinformation or confusion on this topic. Today, man is widely considered to be the image of God or a god unto himself; whereas, in Correctionism man is seen as a fallible, binary creature who is both human and inhuman.
An accurate view of man’s nature is the missing piece of the puzzle in our quest to solve the Paradox of Civilization because human civilization is clearly driven by the perpetual struggle between human good and evil. In Correctionism, we must understand our true nature as humans, which is also essential for solving the great Paradox of Civilization among men. Today, solving this paradox is of the utmost importance because it truly appears that humans have completely lost the plot when it comes to civilization.
In Correctionism, we learn that war is an ancient criminal racket foisted upon a hapless humanity by criminal leaders. Therefore, whenever there is actual war, it’s invariably the result of major, criminal activity. The last roughly 6000 years of human history, up to today, is undeniable proof of this. Among the most brutal realities of human civilization is that human creations like art, literature, politics, religion and science mean little if man fails to master the struggle against his own evil and ignorance as a human. For example, civilization itself is widely seen as a great and beneficial undertaking for all men; in spite of the fact that for thousands of years up to today mankind has actually been dominated by false civilization rather than true civilization, which has resulted in steadily escalating warfare and slavery for our species! This is clear evidence of the bad habit of men living in mythology rather than in reality. To make matters even worse, men are now elevating artificial intelligence or AI to the status of a deity, which is supposed to not only replace most human workers but to also control all life on earth! This is a most disturbing example of the bad habit of men worshipping their creations or inventions and making them more important than themselves.
The danger of the previously mentioned bad habits of mankind can’t be overstated when the human saga is seen for what it truly is: man’s eternal struggle against his own evil and ignorance. Therefore, it should not at all be surprising that when human evil gains the upper hand, as it has clearly done over the last 2000 years in particular, human civilization will invariably veer off into war and slavery, in spite of man’s best intentions. Unfortunately, evil often wins on earth and will continue to do so as long as the vast majority of humans remain as ignorant and gullible as they’ve been over the last several thousand years and counting. In spite of religious, scientific and political beliefs that see man in a glorious light as the image of God and victim of supernatural forces beyond his control, man is in reality, his own worst enemy and often a danger to himself and other species due largely to the eternal struggle against his own evil and ignorance.
Correctionism teaches that whenever we think of human evil, we must also factor in human ignorance because ignorance is the greatest enabler of evil in men and in human civilizations. Correctionism also teaches that “the Devil” is actually another name for the cunning of human evil and the obstinacy of human ignorance. In Correctionism, great prejudice is also the root of all that is evil and inhuman in man. When we speak of great prejudice in Correctionism, we’re referring to the level of prejudice common to bigots and or fanatics. This level of prejudice is so great that it turns man against the Truth as well as his fellow men. Thus, it’s also great prejudice that makes man evil or inhuman.
Regardless of what form man’s societies take, they will invariably be dominated by both evil and ignorance if special attention isn’t given to actually holding them at bay, rather than merely giving lip service to this. Throughout human history, men have tried to come up with a solution for evil but the problem is they’ve been inclined to look in the wrong places. For example, men have resorted to religious and secular beliefs and laws in an effort to combat evil but have largely failed because all human institutions can be used as instruments of evil and this includes both religion and science, so nothing is higher than the Truth. Therefore, the Truth ever serves as man’s sole, time-tested and effective defense against our own evil and ignorance as humans. This is why there’s an on-going war against the Truth throughout human history, waged by the forces of evil. They’ve moved hell and high water to ensure that the Truth is replaced in human cultures by both religious and secular dogma held to be sacrosanct or above either question or criticism.
To make matters even worse for mankind, for the last roughly 2000 years in particular, people have practiced blind, unquestioning faith in erroneous yet popular beliefs. Among the most popular of such beliefs is that man can actually get away with one of his least understood but most devastating offenses: Holding the actual truth, which is also man’s best defense against the devil, in utter contempt for the sake of popular or cherished religious and secular beliefs. Meanwhile, the human species continues to miserably flunk Civilization 101 on earth. In reality, the Paradox of Civilization, which has literally held back the true progress of mankind for ages, can only be effectively solved by The Great Correction. This is so because for thousands of years man’s leading cultures or civilizations have attempted to succeed by waging a relentless war against the Truth and those who support it. However, without truth, nothing in human life works properly. This includes man’s civilizations, their institutions and even humans themselves. Today, people are beginning to speak of a “post-truth world,” which indicates a very ominous twist to the Paradox of Civilization. Nonetheless, the solution to this great problem of human life remains the same: Placing the Truth back in its rightful position, over and above all human systems of belief regardless of the source. This is the Great Correction, which is needed now more than at any other time in human history.
