Today, we may well be at the lowest point in post-emancipation Black American history where the ever-increasing problems of Black America are reaching critical mass so they can no longer be hidden or ignored. The question we must ask ourselves at this critical juncture in Black American history is what can be done about it? Since most of what we’ve been doing to solve our problems hasn’t worked, it’s high time for a totally new direction.
To this end, the Institute for African American Thought and Philosophy (IAATP) created the field of Post-Negro Studies where new perspectives and solutions are offered for the complex array of past and present challenges confronting Black America. The first work in our current Post-Negro Studies line up is:
The Alchemy of Black Liberation and the Post-Negro Worldview also known as TABL (2022)
TABL serves as the introduction to Post-Negroism and the concept of the cultural solution to what in Post-Negro Studies is termed the “Negro Problem;” this is the complex array of past and current challenges faced by Black America stemming from our conversion into Negroes during the time of captivity or U.S. slavery. In this light, our major problems as a people are essentially problems of Negroism which is defined in TABL as thinking and acting like Negroes—the most problematic legacy of U.S. slavery and racism. Therefore, we attempted to move forward after slavery without truly addressing our most fundamental problem which was overcoming the affliction of Negroism in sufficient numbers.
In TABL, we learn that the Negro identity is an artificial ethnic construct of the slavery era that was originally imposed to better enslave us or keep us down. No people can prosper with such an identity crisis and we’re no exception. The Negro Problem, therefore, makes the Black Experience in the U.S. far more complex and difficult than many Black Americans realize because we’ve been saddled with problems having no viable, conventional solution. TABL seeks to unravel the mystery of the Negro Problem by decoding the Black Experience in America as a distinct historical reality. It also provides insights and solutions to longstanding problems that won’t be found anywhere else.
In TABL you’ll learn of new concepts like:
- The Negro Barrier
- The Black American Double Dilemma (BADD)
- Raisin in the Sun Syndrome (RISS) and much more
The foregoing are all principal stumbling blocks of Negroism that most Black Americans are unaware of. If you’re ready for a better Black American culture and have what it takes to overcome Negroism in actual practice, TABL and Post-Negro Studies are for you.
